Street Maintenance Worker (Seasonal), Part-Time

Responsibilities:

• Shovels, lutes, patches, moves, lifts and sweeps, hot asphalt, cold asphalt, sawdust, sand, rock, concrete, dirt and other material in the repair of streets and sidewalks.
• Operates a variety of held equipment and machinery in the installation of signage and pavement markings, i.e. power saw, sander, grinder, sockets, drill, pole saw, chainsaw, ratchet, paint sprayer.
• Erects road signs, repairs damaged road signs. Makes repairs and delivers barricades.
• Works overtime in emergency situations.
• Fills cracks in streets including the use of pouring pots and squeegee, or hot crack sealer dispensed from a hand wand.
• Removes snow, ice, dead animals and debris from properties, streets and sidewalks.
• Operates street division equipment including compressors and jackhammers, concrete saws, paint machine, sign machine, post puller and post remover.
• Performs routine maintenance and safety check on assigned vehicles and equipment before daily use.

Requirements:

• Requires a valid driver's license.
• Experience in street and sidewalk construction or maintenance.
• Experience operating trucks and heavy equipment.
• Climb ladders, lift, bend, reach, kneel, squat and Climb into to operate Pickup trucks
• Enter, exit, climb onto and operate vehicles, trucks and equipment.
• Stand for a period of up to four hours.
• Push a weight of 40 pounds and pull a weight of 70 pounds.
• Grip, hold, carry, and lift objects up to 65 pounds and carry 40 feet and set down at waist level frequently.
