Street Division Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the Street Superintendent in supervising, planning, scheduling, assigning, reviewing, and documenting the work of street crews engaged in maintaining City streets and City sidewalks; public grounds and rights-of-way; and various related functions. Duties include setting standards for workmanship and efficient use of time for work crews; investigating citizen complaints and taking immediate appropriate action; keeping and maintaining detailed records of work, material, labor, equipment costs, and time; inspecting work crew and work area for safety, warning signs, and efficient operations; ensuring job site safety procedures are followed at all times and ensuring the employees use required safety equipment and follow the safety procedures. Works with all Public Services Departments during emergencies and manpower shortfalls.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent interruptions.
• 5 years of experience in street and sidewalk construction or maintenance.
• Experience operating trucks and heavy equipment.
• Willing and able to work overtime including evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Ability to climb ladders, lift, bend, reach, kneel, push weight of up to 65 pounds, pull weight of up to 70 pounds or more, grip, hold, carry, and lift up to 65 pounds or more.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Indoor and outdoor working environment. May encounter hazards from working in extreme weather conditions as well as exposure to hot material, hazardous material, dust, and other allergens. Exposure to constant and extreme noise.
