Recreation Division Superintendent

Responsibilities:

• Prepare annual revenue and expense budgets for the recreation division. Monitor financial performance of recreation division, including operating and capital expenses and revenue.
• Administer contracts for concessions, pool management and maintenance contracts for major equipment.
• Prepare bids and specifications for capital projects and contractual services. Complete other purchasing processes as required.
• Develops and recommend policies and procedures related to operations, use and participation for all recreation division facilities and programs.
• Supervise recreation division staff in conduct of recreation programs and operation of recreation facilities and custodial and maintenance staff for the Community Center.
• Manage all or part of special events such as Summer Concert Series, Greentree Festival, and July 4th fireworks display, Thanksgiving Day run, including program content development, implementation and evaluation.
• Manage all aspects of recreation programs at the aquatic center, including program development, implementation and evaluation.
• Act as a staff liaison to the citizen advisory committee for the aquatic center, and other groups as assigned by Director of Parks and Recreation.

Requirements:

• Have comprehensive knowledge of recreation programming philosophy, trends and operations, and facility management.
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
• Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and other recreation related software applications.
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or equivalent field of study.
• Five years full time experience in recreation programming and/or facility management.

Work Environment:

Work is primarily done in an indoor office setting, however responsibilities will require work in the outdoors and other environments supervising facilities and programs. Some exposure to inclement weather and noise.

Salary: $66,708 - $73,375 per year with great benefits package
