Park Maintenance Worker I
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position is responsible for cleaning, maintenance, construction and repairs of all grounds, buildings, facilities, equipment and athletic fields within the jurisdiction of the Kirkwood Park system. Candidates should have the ability to perform skilled and semi-skilled physically demanding work. Position operates some machinery and equipment. Non-routine, special events and weekend hours included.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduation from High School or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three or more years of grounds and facility maintenance work or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver's license or simple Class B license
- Experience in the operation of standard grounds related equipment such as mowers, tractors, trucks, and UTVs
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances.
- Must be capable of performing strenuous work under inclement weather conditions.
- Ability to walk up to five miles per day.
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and crawl as needed to adequately perform maintenance of parks
