Intern - Engineering

The City of Kirkwood is accepting applications for an engineering intern position within the Engineering Department. The Engineering Intern duties may include city construction/permit inspections for asphalt and concrete street, alley, or sidewalk construction projects; tracking and documentation of construction project quantities. Other duties may include a speed study throughout the City of Kirkwood collecting traffic counts and vehicle speeds on Kirkwood Streets. The intern would collect speed and traffic data in GIS to complete a speed study to be used in the future by the Engineering Department for placement traffic calming elements and to further the practices of Vision Zero. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is required. A valid driver's license is required. Preferred qualifications include engineering students who have completed their sophomore year in college and prior construction or inspection experience.

Pay $17 to $18/hr, anticipated internship is from June 1st to Mid-August.
