What you will be doing:

Our HR Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Department, ensuring effective administration of recruitment, benefits, employee relations, and compliance functions. This role manages the full lifecycle of personnel recruitment-from advertising vacancies to onboarding new employees-while ensuring all hiring practices align with federal, state, and local employment laws. The position administers employee benefits, interprets HR policies, maintains official personnel and medical records, and provides guidance to employees and leadership on HR-related matters.

The HR Manager conducts investigations into workplace complaints, prepares required regulatory reports, and develops and delivers training for managers and staff on key employment topics such as discrimination, harassment prevention, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and performance management. The role collaborates closely with the Finance Department to ensure accurate processing of compensation and benefits and supports the Safety Manager with workers' compensation, general liability, and other insurance-related programs. Under the direction of the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (ACAO), the HR Manager also assists with special projects and supervises the HR Administrative Assistant.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration or a closely related field, and 10 years Human Resources related experience, including three years of leadership experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. A Master's degree and/or HR Certifications are desirable such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR.
