Customer Service Associate
Responsibilities:
Responsible for answering the telephone and to be knowledgeable about Kirkwood Electric, Water, Sanitation, business licensing, accounts receivables, and general inquiries received on a daily basis. Responsible for the maintenance, billing and collection of all accounts to include utility payments received by the City through the mail, drop box, online and in-person. Handles customer service inquiries regarding utility bills and regarding connection and disconnection of utility service. Responsible for interpreting the business license ordinance. Balances all payments received on a daily basis.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Strong bookkeeping and cash handling skills. Knowledge of business collection and billing procedures. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with the public. Ability to respond to inquiries from both manual records as well as computerized databases. Strong organizational skills with an aptitude for details. Ability to work within established deadlines and operate office equipment such as computers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines in addition to Microsoft Office programs.
