Assistant Director of Procurement

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs a variety of complex professional, administrative, analytical supply management functions and assists Procurement Director in the day to day operations of the Procurement Department and procurement functions of the City.
• Performs, tracks and reviews competitive solicitation processes, in accordance with the City's procurement code and applicable laws. Maintains contracts database and prepares management reports to Director to ensure effectiveness of competitive bid process.
• Supervises the Senior Procurement Officer/Analyst, Procurement Officer/Analyst, Administrative Associate – Procurement, Facilities Operations department. Supervises the Facilities Division Superintendent, Lead Worker – Facilities Maintenance, Maintenance Technician – Facilities, Custodian – Facilities and organizes the department's workload and staff assignment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree or major course works in business, supply management, public administration or related field required.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years of progressively experience, preferably in governmental procurement. Professional credentials of CPPO, CPPB, CPSM, or NIGP-CPP desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic procurement software and ERP systems for purchasing and inventory control preferred.
