Administrative Associate - Public Services

Responsibilities:

Provides secretarial services for the Director of Public Services and Engineering Division. Responsible for answering questions from the general public regarding the Public Services and Engineering Division. Answers phone calls and inquiries directed to Public Services Office. Schedules appointments for Director and City Engineer. Receives citizen complaints concerning Public Services and works directly with the Director or Supervisor to solve problems. Types a variety of correspondence by either creating same or from rough draft. Files general correspondence, reports, and Engineering files. Answers phones, responds effectively and courteously with associates, property owners, residents and the general public. Operates computers and auxiliary equipment with a variety of computer software applications, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and St. Louis County tax information. Operates other office machines, such as copiers, facsimile machine, calculator, two-way radio, and telephone. Understands and interprets City codes and ordinances to resolve citizen inquiries and complaints.


Requirements:

  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and have post-secondary specialized training with a minimum of three years' experience in an office support/administration position.
  • Be able to perform bending, squatting, walking, kneeling, and reaching from ground level to six feet in height and perform all required office duties.
  • Be available to work forty (40) hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and overtime as needed.
